Job description

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team and is currently recruiting for a Packer - 3rd shift to work from our manufacturing facility located in Goodyear, AZ.

As a Packer, this candidate will be responsible for the inspection of finished product prior to being bagged and the placing of the bagged product in boxes, cases and displays. The Packer will assist in ensuring the plant environment meets food safety cleanliness objectives and operates according to the establish safety standards. Shift hours are Monday thru Friday, 11:00PM - 7:00AM, with some Saturdays as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Packs bags of chips into cartons.
  • Assembles cartons, applies stickers and packs cases according to case specifications while verifying the package quality of finished product.
  • Performs visual inspections of chips, quality of chips and chip packages and alerts machine operator or shift supervisor / lead of any problems.
  • Performs rework as needed.
  • Covers "pick out" lines and recognizes bad product.
  • Perform daily sanitation task.
  • Perform weekly sanitation task.
  • Perform monthly sanitation task.
  • Maintain GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Maintains and follows all Safety guidelines.
  • Maintaining appropriate housekeeping standards.
  • Gives lunch and work breaks.
  • Trains new packers.
  • Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
  • Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.
  • Preforms additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Requires basic reading and math skills.
  • Requires knowledge of product quality and basic operations acquired through training.
  • Ability to communicate production issues to fellow co-workers and supervision.
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to perform constant and repetitive motion in a physically demanding position.
