Ryan Lawn & Tree is one of the most respected names in lawn and tree care — a $100M+ company with room to grow across four states: Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. We're on a mission to raise the bar for our industry, and that starts with hiring great people, treating them right, and giving them the chance to grow with us.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're not just filling a position—we're looking for someone who shows up with drive. The right person will:

  • Takes ownership of their work, their truck, and their crew's results—no one needs to tell them to hustle
  • Brings energy and a positive attitude to every property, every day
  • Holds themselves to a high standard, even when no one's watching
  • Looks for ways to do the job better, faster, and safer—not just the way it's always been done
  • Treats client properties like their own backyard
  • Wants to grow, and is willing to put in the work to earn it

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute pruning and tree work on client properties across the Springfield area, including tree pruning and removal, shrub pruning, mulch installation, and stump grinding
  • Take initiative and ownership of daily routes, equipment, and quality of work
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment while also working independently with efficiency
  • Operate small-engine equipment safely and proficiently, including chainsaws, shears, and string trimmers
  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding service expectations, processes, and timelines
  • Adhere to all safety protocols while working aloft and on the ground
Requirements:

A background in forestry or a related field is a plus. That said, if you bring a genuine willingness to learn - both on the job and independently, our structured training program will equip you with the skills to succeed. All candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Production Arborist or in comparable tree care/climbing role
  • Strong physical capability, including the ability to lift 50 lbs. and walk 3+ miles per day
  • Comfort and respect for working at heights; ability to climb and work aloft
  • Ability to push and pull objects over extended distances
  • Ability to work effectively in all weather conditions
  • A self-starter mindset and commitment to team collaboration and workplace safety
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to obtain DOT certification and pass a background check and drug screening
  • Reliable transportation to job sites throughout the Springfield area

** SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION: This is a safety-sensitive position requiring the operation of vehicles and equipment. All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen (including marijuana), criminal background check, MVR check, and DOT physical (where applicable) before starting employment. Candidates must meet all screening requirements as a condition of employment.

We hire great people for our employee-owned company. As a member of our team, you'll become a partner in the highest-quality lawn and tree company in the Midwest.
