Position Reports to: Executive Director of the Foundation
Location: Carlsbad, CA - hybrid schedule, Tue & Thu in office
Salary Range: $85,000-$95,000

JOB OVERVIEW
The NAMM Foundation seeks a dynamic and results-driven Development Manager to support fundraising operations and donor engagement for the Foundation's programs. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Manager will manage all aspects of the Foundation's fundraising operations, build lasting relationships with individual and institutional donors, and drive campaigns that sustain and expand key programs.

Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES
Development Strategy and Execution
  • Partner with the Executive Director to meet revenue goals and deepen donor engagement across programs, including Awards & Scholarships, Global Grantmaking, Museum of Making Music, and others as assigned.
  • Manage all aspects of fundraising operations, gift CRM entry, report generation, donation reconciliations, donor acknowledgments, and grant writing/reporting.
  • Monitor fundraising trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to inform strategies and ensure compliance domestically and internationally.

Donor Relations and Stewardship
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with donors through personalized and timely communication, stewardship, and impact reporting.
  • Manage and maintain accurate donor records in Salesforce, ensuring timely tracking and reporting of engagement activities.
  • Actively cultivate a pipeline of prospective donors at all stages of the engagement cycle.
  • Collaborate with Foundation program staff to create donor impact communications.

Events
  • Manage the planning and execution of donor engagement and fundraising events across all NAMM Foundation programs.

Research and Data Management
  • Identify new funding opportunities and donor prospects through proactive research and networking.
  • Track and analyze development activities, donor engagement metrics, and fundraising results to evaluate effectiveness and refine future strategies.

Grants Management
  • Grant writing and reporting for the Museum of Making Music and other initiatives as assigned.

General
  • Effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance culture dedicated to advancing the mission of The NAMM Foundation.
  • Occasional travel for donor meetings, events, and Foundation programs and the annual NAMM Show.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree or fundraising certifications (e.g., CFRE) a plus.
  • Minimum 5-7 years demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising.
  • Experience managing multi-channel fundraising campaigns.
  • Experience with CRM systems required; Salesforce experience strongly preferred.
