Job description

Job Title: Packaging Technician (1st Shift) Location: Athens, GA Type: Contract Compensation: $20.00/hr Work Model: Onsite Hours: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM Leading pharmaceutical company is seeking a Packaging Technician to support vaccine packaging operations in a GMP manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to operate packaging equipment while ensuring quality, safety, and production standards are met. Responsibilities

  • Label, inspect, and package finished vaccine products according to established procedures
  • Operate packaging equipment, including labelers, pick-and-place systems, heat tunnels, vision systems, and forklifts
  • Perform equipment setup, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime
  • Inspect products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Complete batch records and GMP documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Read, understand, and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Prepare QA line clearances and support production line readiness
  • Communicate production progress, equipment issues, and process deviations to the Shift Line Leader and Supervisor
  • Record production data, materials consumed, and inventory information
  • Participate in daily team performance reviews and continuous improvement efforts
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Cross-train in other production areas as needed to support business operations
  • Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and report unsafe conditions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2–3 years of manufacturing or packaging experience
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and production processes
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of manufacturing or packaging experience
  • Forklift certification
