HR Generalist
Reporting to the HR Director, HR Manager, or the SR HR Generalist, the Human Resources Generalist will be a member of the HR Department in serving internal & external customers. This position is responsible for supporting the Human Resources initiatives, programs, policies, and processes. Primary areas of responsibility include employee leave administration and tracking; processing transfers, personnel actions forms, and miscellaneous data entry into the HRIS system; responding to disability and PFL claims; completing employment verification requests; pulling/distributing weekly and monthly HR data; supporting onboarding; conducting new hire orientation; participating in employee rounding to develop positive relationships at all levels of the organization, and professionally representing the Human Resources function at TVH. The Generalist will provide backup to the other HR staff as needed.
Essential Job Duties :
Responsible for assisting with the accurate and timely maintenance/processing/tracking and/or attendance/facilitation of the following related processes in partnership with HR Manager/SR HR Generalist as deemed necessary:
  • Human Resources
    • Leaves of Absence
    • HR aspects of Kronos
    • Personnel Action Forms (PAF's)
    • Turnover Data/Reporting
    • New Hire Orientation
    • Participate in applicable TVH task forces/committees
    • Maintain HRIS records and complies reports from database as needed
    • Process employment changes, terminations, rate changes, bonus payments, position changes
  • Acts as a backup in the on-boarding process to include but not limited to: Processing background checks and employee health clearances; assists with scheduling new hires for orientation;
  • Assists with file audits to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Provide general customer service and human resource support to workforce. Support includes, but is not limited to, providing staff with information on leaves, benefits, SharePoint access, policies, direct deposits, name changes, transfer requests and PTO request.
  • Serves as the primary internal point person for leaves of absence. Communicates benefit information to employees regarding our Leave of Absence program and works with third party administrators in administering LOA's. Responsible for all leave tracking, reporting, communication with managers/payroll; and in partnership with the HR Manager, collaborates with the Loss Control team.
  • Provides entry level employee relations support for intake and resolution of employee issues, escalating to the HR Manager/Director accordingly.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation, under the direction of the HR Director and Manager.
Qualifications
Education/Training/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required, or minimum four years of relevant HR experience in lieu of education required.
  • Human Resources Certificate preferred
  • Three years' direct experience in the Human Resources field required
  • Minimum one year experience with leave administration required
  • Three years' continuing advanced administrative responsibilities required
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Prior experience with KRONOS and Lawson preferred
  • Strong administrative skills to include attention to detail, organization, proficiency, productivity and the ability to multitask.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and to develop an organized plan to efficiently process and follow through as necessary.
  • Strong computer application skills to include Word, Excel, and HRIS maintenance. Strong data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of or aptitude for general HR knowledge to include, but not limited to leaves of absence, employee relations, wage and hour rules, benefits, compensation, and recruitment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable of EEO laws governing general human resources & concepts to include benefits, records management, wage & hour, labor relations & compensation.
