Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Leader – Rome, NY

Overview

Join Collins Aerospace as a dynamic EH&S leader responsible for overseeing Environmental, Health, Safety and Security programs at our Rome, NY site. In this pivotal role you will collaborate closely with senior and line management to develop and execute effective EH&S and Security programs that align with company goals.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and build partnership across all levels of the organization to foster EH&S culture improvement.
  • Partner with site leadership and supervision to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues and establish a timely incident investigation process to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Ensure timely risk assessments and adequate controls for EH&S processes.
  • Oversee the comprehensive EH&S training program and maintain readiness for oversight audits (OSHA VPP, ISO 14001, etc.).
  • Build synergies between EH&S, Security and Facilities & Equipment Management for efficient deployment of resources.
  • Provide timely information and guidance to the site EH&S & Security leadership team, committees, and sub‑committees.
  • Consult on environmental sustainability initiatives to minimize water use, GHG generation, hazardous waste and to increase recycling rate.
Qualifications
  • University degree with minimum 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with minimum 7 years.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in EH&S.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization.
  • Preferred: Prior experience leading security programs, leadership experience, legal EH&S requirements including OSHA/EPA, safety certifications, technical assessments of processes and equipment in manufacturing, ergonomic assessments.
