Job description

Inception Fertility - Houston | 104B
4828 Loop Central Drive
Suite 900
Houston, TX 77081, USA

Description

Every matter you touch here traces back to a family trying to grow. Inception Fertility is the parent of The Prelude Network® — the largest network of fertility centers in North America — and we are hiring a dedicated litigation and risk attorney.

You will own the litigation portfolio, the insurance program, and enterprise risk across the network. Half the job is winning the disputes in front of you. The other half is building the risk program that keeps the next one from happening.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN
  • Litigation. All phases of litigation, arbitration, and pre-suit disputes - medical and professional liability, employment, and commercial — directing outside counsel on strategy, budget, and resolution.
  • Insurance. The full program: professional liability, general liability, D&O, EPL, cyber, and property, renewals, coverage analysis, limits, and broker and carrier relationships.
  • Claims. Investigation, evaluation, reserving, and settlement negotiation within your delegated authority.
  • Enterprise risk. Loss-prevention initiatives, policies, and training built with clinical quality, patient safety, and compliance — plus adverse-event review and root-cause analysis.
  • Counsel to leadership. Litigation holds and discovery, risk-allocation terms in contracts, regulatory and licensing-board responses, and reporting
What is required from you:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and an active U.S. state bar license in good standing.
  • 4–7 years of civil litigation experience, preferably at a firm.
  • Hands-on experience managing outside counsel, claims, and insurance coverage matters.
  • Working knowledge of coverage lines and the claims-handling process.
  • The judgment to carry a full portfolio independently and the communication skills to advise senior leaders.
Preferred:

healthcare, medical malpractice, or professional liability experience, and a track record in risk management in a regulated industry.

WHY THIS ONE
  • A build, not a maintenance job, you shape the litigation, insurance, and risk functions rather than inherit them.
  • Direct line to the Chief Legal Officer and real visibility with senior leadership.
  • A growing national network, so the legal questions keep changing.
  • Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and travel to clinics across North America.
Why You’ll Love Working Here – Our Amazing Benefits:
  • Comprehensive Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision plans for our full-time employees, along with complimentary basic life insurance, Employee Assistance Program, and long-term disability insurance. FREE employee only healthcare coverage option is also available.
  • Family Building Support: Take advantage of our comprehensive fertility benefits, adoption assistance, and surrogacy support to help grow your family.
  • Paid Parental Leave: Generous maternity, paternity, and partner leave so you can focus on what matters most.
  • Plenty of Paid Time Off: Start with 18 days of PTO annually and enjoy 11 paid holidays, including one floating holiday to use as you choose!
  • Retirement Ready: Invest in your future with our 401(k) plan, featuring a competitive company match and full vesting after just 2 years.
  • Lifestyle Spending Account: Access a company-funded account to reimburse expenses that boost your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
  • Health Savings Account (HSA): If eligible, enjoy regular employer contributions to your HSA with every paycheck.
  • Rewards for Connections: Earn extra money with our Employee Referral Program—your network is invaluable!
  • Growth Opportunities: We support your career with continuing education reimbursement and dedicated time off for professional development.
  • Premium Calm Health Subscription: Enjoy a free premium Calm Health app subscription to support your mental wellness.
  • Emotional & Work-Life Support: Through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with SupportLinc, you'll have access to emotional well-being and work-life resources whenever you need them.
  • Extra Peace of Mind: Explore additional coverage options including Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, and Pet Insurance, to suit your needs.
