Job description

We have an immediate opening for a qualified Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist to fill a part-time position at our Atlanta, Georgia location. This is an exciting and challenging position with a practice that continues to grow. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management and organizational skills. This position requires independent judgment as well as the ability to work closely with a team of clinicians. Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills; capable of multi-tasking and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment; computer and telephone skills required. Infertility and/or Women's Health experience is preferred.
Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. with weekend and holiday rotation required.
This role will be supporting the ultrasound department and supporting the clinical staff on Saturday and Sundays 7 a.m. - noon by drawing blood and assisting with IUI's.
Job Duties include:
Perform HSGs (hysterosalpingograms) on M/W/F
โ€ข Performs phlebotomy using proper technique and universal precautions.
โ€ข Ensures lab specimens are sent to proper labs.
โ€ข Documents patient care services utilizing daily logs, patient records, and appropriate outside laboratory forms.
โ€ข Comforts patients by anticipating anxieties, answering questions, providing support.
Education Requirements:
  • Phlebotomy certification with one year of experience is required.
  • Medical Assistant who completed course with diploma is highly preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Successful completing of an 8 hour radiation safety course.
