Position Summary:

Job Description:

Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

Position: Western Colorado University invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Men's Basketball Coach. The position reports to the Head Men's Basketball Coach.

Responsibilities: The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach is responsible for recruiting and helping to maintain eligibility within the program. This position will also assist with practice planning and the ordering and maintenance of equipment. Thorough work through scouting and game preparation will be essential. There will also be an emphasis to help with student-athlete development and academic support. The position will also help to organize and implement travel plans and also help with adherence to all compliance. The marketing and planning of summer camps, along with fundraising efforts and any other duties as assigned will also be part of the role. This position will also work to identify potential workers through work study.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • One year of coaching or playing is required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of NCAA Division II basketball operations, compliance, and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with student-athletes, staff, administrators, alumni, and community members

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Demonstrated coaching experience within a collegiate athletics program

Compensation: $40,560 annual salary. This position is FLSA exempt and is NOT eligible for overtime. Western offers an excellent benefits package including shared premiums for a comprehensive health insurance plan, dental insurance, retirement plan, life insurance, and other insurance options. After one year of employment, Western provides free tuition for dependents enrolled full time in undergraduate programs for up to four years.
