Job description

$20-$30/hr | Full-Time (Summer) | Leadership Role

We run youth basketball camps for kids ages 5-14 across Fairfax County, Loudoun, Arlington, and Herndon. We need a Basketball Camp Director who knows the game, can manage a full day of programming, lead a staff, and deliver a camp experience kids will talk about all year.

You run the gym. We back you up.

What you will do:

  • Direct daily operations of a full-day basketball camp
  • Build and manage daily schedule - skill sessions, drills, games, competitions, cool-down
  • Lead and supervise a team of counselors and assistant coaches
  • Deliver and oversee OTA basketball curriculum across age groups and skill levels
  • Run or delegate station-based skill development (ball handling, shooting, defense, IQ)
  • Be the primary point of contact for parents at your site
  • Handle incidents, injuries, and behavioral issues calmly and professionally
  • Ensure every camper is safely signed out at end of day

What we are looking for:

  • Strong basketball background - played or coached at a competitive level
  • 2+ years coaching or camp leadership experience
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team of counselors
  • Comfortable coaching multiple age groups and skill levels in the same day
  • High energy, high standards
  • Strong parent communication skills
  • Must pass background check + fingerprinting
  • Reliable transportation to assigned camp site

Pay and Schedule:

  • $20-$25/hr to start based on experience
  • Up to $30/hr for returning, experienced directors
  • Full-time hours during summer (typically June-August)
  • Pre-season training and planning required
