Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head Baseball Coach, the Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator performs all duties necessary to support a nationally competitive NCAA Division I program in the Big South Conference.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least four years of experience coaching or playing baseball at the collegiate or professional level.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Collegiate playing experience.
  • Recruiting experience.
  • Experience counseling and advising student-athletes.
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office, Adobe products and ARMS or similar recruiting software.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Summary
  • Expert knowledge of baseball, including offensive and defensive strategies, and coaching techniques.
  • Working knowledge of NCAA and Big South Conference rules and regulations and the ability to apply them.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate and teach sport-specific skills.
  • Ability to maintain high ethical and moral standards, cultivate an encouraging and inclusive environment, and inspire and motivate student athletes academically, athletically and professionally.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel as needed.

Job Summary
  • Teaches fundamentals, skill development and position techniques to student-athletes.
  • Oversees the recruiting process, including identification through video and travel, as necessary.
  • Works closely with athletic trainers, academic and student services, compliance and athletic performance staff to monitor the overall progress of student-athletes.
  • Assists with operations, including team travel, equipment, scheduling and budget.
  • Helps plan and participates in fundraising opportunities, alumni events and community service activities.
