Full-time, Permanent
We are seeking an experienced Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join the team as a Nocturnist. Provide advanced overnight surgical care in a high-acuity Level II Trauma Center, working alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Provide comprehensive overnight coverage for Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Perform patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans
  • Manage trauma and emergency general surgery patients in inpatient settings
  • Support trauma surgeons with procedures and ongoing patient management
  • Work autonomously while collaborating with physicians and care teams
  • Document all patient care in EMR systems
  • Ensure compliance with medical staff bylaws, credentialing, and privileging requirements
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety and clinical performance
  • Participate in mentorship, leadership development, and continuing education programs

Qualifications (Required)
  • Trauma Surgery Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master’s degree in Nursing
  • Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANPCB)
  • Active Colorado license (or ability to obtain)
  • Eligible for DEA registration and Medicare/Medicaid provider status
  • Current BLS certification
  • No sanctions or exclusions from HHS/OIG or GSA
  • Current NPDB Self-Query report (within 30 days at time of submission)
  • Preferred Qualifications
* OR completion of a surgical fellowship
* Clean malpractice and licensure history
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary Range: $136,822 – $179,379 annually (based on experience)
  • Up to $10,000 annual quality incentive bonus
  • Relocation bonus up to $10,000 (for eligible candidates)
