Job Description Summary
Assist with camps and conferences that are taking place at the university.
***This is a temporary student worker position for the 2026 Summer Semester. ***
Job Description
Please note: Hiring for this position is subject to funding availability and a limited number of openings. Applying does not guarantee employment.
Duties and Tasks:
Assist with operational needs for camps, conferences, and events, including but not limited to:
  • Serve as a liaison between camp coordinators and university departments to support daily operations
  • Set up and break down event spaces, including tables, chairs, equipment, and room configurations
  • Prepare athletic and event spaces (e.g., setting up tents or laying carpet, lining fields, setting up water stations)
  • Assist with overnight camp logistics, including check-in, check-out, and room setup
  • Support basic audiovisual and media equipment setup as needed
  • Monitor weather alerts and communicate safety procedures, including evacuation of outdoor spaces when necessary
  • Maintain the cleanliness of facilities, including trash collection and general upkeep of event areas
  • Provide general customer service and support to campers, staff, and guests
  • Complete additional operational projects and tasks assigned during downtime

REQUIRED Qualifications, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Qualifications:
  • Saint Leo University student preferred; summer campus residency preferred

Knowledge:
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid Certificate preferred

Skills:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Willingness to take initiative and assist where needed

Abilities:
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and sun exposure
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Ability to remain calm and responsive in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations
