Medical Team Member

Level
- Provide first-line health support to students, including assessment, basic first aid, and triage of medical concerns;
- Assist with medication administration and documentation in accordance with licensure, institutional protocols, and delegation by the Summer Programs Health Coordinator;
- Monitor student health conditions and escalate concerns appropriately to the Summer Programs Health Coordinator or emergency services;
- Respond calmly and effectively to medical and safety emergencies, including during evenings, nights, and weekends as assigned;
- Maintain accurate health records, medication logs, and incident documentation in compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and all applicable federal, state, local, industry, and institution policies, rules, laws, and regulations;
- Support students with logistical support in accessing transportation for off-campus medical services when necessary;
- Collaborate closely with residential life, counseling, academic staff, and program leadership to support student wellness and safety;
- Participate in required staff training sessions, including health and safety, emergency response, and student support protocols;
- Provide medical coverage for off-campus activities, weekend excursions, and field trips, including travel and extended hours as required;
- Attend and participate in Orientation Day activities and program meetings as assigned;
- Model professional conduct representative of Beacon College expectations for staff and students; and
- Carry out other duties as assigned to support the overall success and integrity of college offered summer programs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, Public Health, Psychology, or a related field preferred;
- Certification or licensure in one or more of the following strongly preferred:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Medical Assistant (MA)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification required (certification must be obtained prior to summer program staff orientation week);
- Familiarity with adolescent health needs, medication administration practices, and emergency response procedures preferred; and
- Experience working with neurodiverse populations and/or in residential, school-based, camp, or youth development settings preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and crisis response skills in fast-paced residential environments;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, faculty, healthcare providers, and campus staff;
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly related to medication management and documentation; and
- Ability to balance student-centered care with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to remain calm, composed, and effective in emergency and high-stress situations;
- Ability to maintain a professional, supportive, and compassionate approach when working with students and families;
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams; and
- Availability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as required by program operations and student needs.
