The Mother Susan Anderson Mission Home, a women's shelter operated by Soul Saving Station for Every Nation Saratoga Springs, is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and attentive Overnight House Monitor to support residents during evening and overnight hours.
This role is essential to maintaining a safe, calm, and structured environment. The Overnight House Monitor provides supervision, support, and accountability while helping ensure the safety and well-being of residents throughout the night.
This position is ideal for someone with strong observation skills, sound judgment, and a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of women in transition.
Responsibilities
- Monitor resident activity and maintain a safe, secure environment during overnight hours
- Conduct routine facility walkthroughs and safety checks
- Ensure compliance with house rules, expectations, and shelter policies
- Respond appropriately to resident concerns, incidents, and emergencies
- Utilize conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques when needed
- Document incidents, observations, and shift activity accurately and thoroughly
- Communicate important information during shift changes to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain professional boundaries while treating residents with dignity and respect
- Support a calm, structured, and trauma-informed environment
Qualifications
- High level of reliability, professionalism, and personal accountability
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies or challenging situations
- Strong observation, documentation, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours
- Experience in shelters, residential programs, human services, behavioral health, security, or related fields preferred but not required
- Experience with conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques is a plus
