Job description

The Gift Shop Attendant at Ocean Place Resort & Spa provides exceptional customer service by warmly welcoming guests and efficiently processing transactions at the hotel’s gift shop. This role requires a courteous and informative approach to all guest interactions, ensuring a positive shopping experience. This role is a seasonal position with the date range 5/15/26 - 10/5/26.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly and provide courteous, informative, and thorough service at all times.
  • Accurately process cash and credit transactions, issuing receipts and providing correct change.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hotel services and local attractions to respond effectively to guest inquiries.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by management.
  • Ensure the security and accuracy of the cash bank throughout shifts.
  • Stock the convenience store and front desk gift shop consistently and maintain cleanliness of these areas.
  • Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a cashier or in a related retail position is strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Strong basic math skills with the ability to accurately process cash transactions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with guests and staff.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Availability to work both Friday and Saturday shifts, with rotating Sundays and 2-3 mid-week shifts each week.

Business Hours:

Monday - Thursday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Friday & Saturday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Sunday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (subject to change)
