This position performs inspections, testing, and maintenance on UST/AST systems and components — including dispensers, pumps, controllers, tank gauge systems, and point-of-sale (POS) systems — traveling to customer sites daily and, at times, across multiple states with overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site assessments, surveys, and inspections of underground storage tank (UST) and aboveground storage tank (AST) systems to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and safety standards.
  • Enter and analyze test results using company-provided compliance testing software and communicate findings to the Operations team.
  • Manage and report inventory of parts and supplies on company vehicles.
  • Document inspection results and report any non-compliance issues to the appropriate personnel.

  • Take daily direction from the Service Manager or Service Dispatcher.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving UST/AST compliance issues.
  • Complete required prerequisite work necessary to obtain and maintain certification from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
  • Maintain accurate, complete records of inspections, tests, and maintenance activities.
  • Communicate effectively with site personnel and regulatory agencies.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures during inspections and maintenance activities, including customer safety and housekeeping guidelines.
  • Foster a team-oriented, collaborative work environment.
  • Model and promote StationServ's culture and core values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications (Must-Have)

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic understanding of UST/AST systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and use of company compliance testing software.
  • Ability to distinguish various colors of UST tank top components (essential function of the role).
  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to complete work efficiently while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different sites daily, including multi-state travel with overnight stays as needed (hotel and per diem provided).
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, DOT physical, and motor vehicle records (MVR) check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in petroleum equipment service, maintenance, or UST/AST compliance.
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in trades such as HVAC, plumbing, mechanics, electrical work, carpentry, or cable installation.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed outdoors at customer sites in varying weather conditions, with a commitment to safety and quality compliance.
  • Requires daily travel to multiple sites and, at times, multi-state travel.
  • Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, and pull up to 70 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for 8-10 hours per day.
  • Ability to climb 20-foot extension ladders multiple times daily.
  • Energetic, hands-on attitude with a desire to contribute to company growth.
  • Must live within a reasonable commuting distance (e.g., 60 minutes) of the assigned location, where specified in the posting.
