Announcement Summary
Fayetteville Technical Community College is recruiting for a new member to join our North Carolina Military Business Team and now accepting applications for a Part-time Data Management Technician.
The Data Management Technician will provide technical expertise, assistance, and management of database systems for the North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC); to maintain the NCMBC's statewide client management database; to assist staff in research, data analysis, and special projects.
This is a continuous recruitment pool not specifically advertised.
The pool is continuous in order to develop a qualified pool of interested candidates.
We invite applications to be submitted for potential openings.

Duties
Essential Duties-Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Support the Technology Systems Coordinator with the management of data entry and hygiene of NCMBC's internal client management software and database system (Salesforce) with over 74,000 records.
  • Operate client management software systems to update and maintain data files operate associated peripheral equipment.
  • Identify and correct duplicate, incomplete, or inaccurate records in Salesforce.
  • Standardize data formats (e.g., phone numbers, addresses, email fields).
  • Assist the Technology Systems Coordinator with data sets to import, export, and update data.
  • Maintain data integrity by validating and enforcing naming conventions.
  • Perform regular data audits and quality checks.
  • Merge and deduplicate account, contract, and NCMBC client records.
  • Collaborate with NCMBC team members to ensure data accuracy.
  • Document data cleaning procedures and maintain data governance standards.
  • Support the Technology Systems Coordinator to monitor data health.
  • Support integration of clean data across connected systems.
  • Compile and format external data sets for entry into Salesforce (event data, etc.)
  • Coordinate with the Technology Systems Coordinator for suggested data validation rules to prevent bad data entry.
  • Inform Technology Systems Coordinator of data trends to identify recurring quality issues.
  • In support of the Technology Systems Coordinator, support and test client management system for projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Test and debug, in support of the Technology Systems Coordinator, projects as they are developed for production. Research complex problems and discrepancies in records and data management sets.
  • As requested by the Technology Systems Coordinator, research awarded contracts and communicate with NCMBC staff and Salesforce system to identify companies that have received contract awards and close out open-solicitations with awarded information.
  • Analyze and provide statistical data, in coordination with the Director of Operations - NCMBC and the Technology Systems Coordinator - NCMBC, related to the NCMBC.
  • Provide technical support, information, and data entry to internal NCMBC team as requested by Technology Systems Coordinator.
  • Provide event-related support, as needed to the Director of Operations - NCMBC.
  • Limited daytime and overnight travel required
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • An Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Business, Computer Information Systems, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Work experience in managing computer applications software, as well as word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with good driving record, and ability to frequently drive FTCC vehicles.
  • Combination of education or experience equivalent to two years of business, data research, and/or application software systems management.
  • Advanced skills in word processing and spreadsheet programs.
