The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) offers advanced outpatient surgery, allowing patients to return home soon after their procedures without the need for overnight stays. As an RN, you willassistfellow caregivers in providing exceptional care, frominitialintroduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients,familiesand visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.

This is a part-time role. A caregiver in this positionworks days,7:00amto 3:30pm averaging about 24 hours per week.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide clinical nursinginthe Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).
  • Assess patient care needs, plan the delivery ofcareand process patients through the ASC.
  • Direct other caregivers in providing patient care.
  • Assume charge responsibilities, resolveproblemsand report variances.
  • Develop educational materials and provide health education to patients and families.
  • Maintain nursing competencies.
  • Participate in preparing staff development programs.
  • Identifyself-learning needs,establishgoalsand evaluate attainment of goals.
  • Demonstrate respect for the cultural and social differences that exist among people.
  • Maintain confidentiality of informationregardingpatients,familiesand caregivers.
  • Demonstrate a positive,concernedand sensitive response in the workplace and contribute to apositiveworkplace atmosphere.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • One year of clinical experience as an RN in a perioperative or critical care setting OR three years as a Surgical Technician
  • One year of Circulating experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or the American Red Crossor willing to obtain within six months of hire
  • If caring for a pediatric population: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Currentdemonstratedclinicalproficiency

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
  • Scrubbing experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $33.50

Maximum hourly: $53.40
