Position Overview

The Emergency Veterinarian will provide immediate, comprehensive care to patients presenting with a wide range of emergency and critical conditions. This role is ideal for clinicians who enjoy high-acuity medicine, teamwork with specialists, and a supportive ER culture.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage emergency and critical care cases including trauma and acute illness
• Perform physical examinations, diagnostics, and treatment planning
• Perform emergency procedures (CPR, airway management, stabilization, wound care)
• Administer medications and advanced supportive care
• Collaborate closely with specialists and fellow ER clinicians
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records
• Thrive in a fast-paced emergency environment
• Abdominal and cardiac ultrasound experience is a strong plus
• Ability to perform ER surgeries preferred

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD degree
• Rotating internship or equivalent ER experience preferred
• Strong emergency and critical care clinical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to perform under pressure
• Commitment to high-quality patient care and client service

• Dedicated ER endoscopy and fluoroscopy systems
• Separate abdominal and cardiac ultrasound units
• Fluoroscopy-equipped minimally invasive surgery suite
• Dedicated orthopedic, minimally invasive, and soft-tissue surgery suites
• Advanced surgical equipment (ForceTriad, vessel-sealing devices)
• Integrated ICU and anesthesia monitoring
• Separate cat and dog ICUs
• Advanced oxygen cages and ventilator-integrated anesthesia units
• Dedicated GI and respiratory isolation wards
• Fully integrated cloud-based hospital software

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $150,000 - $190,000
• Production: 23% (multiple compensation structures available)
• Compensation based on skill set, initiative, workflow efficiency, collaboration, and case management
• CE Allowance: $3,000 annually + daily access to specialists
• Professional Fees Covered: AVMA, state license, DEA
• Insurance: Health, vision, and dental
• Paid Time Off: 2 weeks initially, increasing with tenure
