What You'll Do

The Regional Vice President (RVP) is responsible for expanding NQ Distribution’s presence across the SE United States. This role drives the adoption of Principal’s non-qualified and corporate-owned life insurance solutions by delivering integrated sales leadership, advanced case design expertise, and consultative support to key partners. This role is critical to driving profitable growth in the non-qualified market by combining strong distribution relationships, technical expertise, and disciplined sales execution to expand Principal’s presence and deepen client engagement across the territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic territory business plan focused on market segmentation, advisor engagement, and pipeline growth.
  • Drive sales of non-qualified deferred compensation (NQDC) and variable universal life solutions through targeted prospecting and focused opportunity management.
  • Build and deepen relationships with key advisor partners, BGAs and internal distribution partners (i.e. Workplace Savings and Retirement Solutions, Principal Custody Solutions, Principal Asset Management, Annuities, Business Solutions) to expand NQDC distribution.
  • Trusted consultant to plan sponsors and advisors, delivering point-of-sale support, advanced case design, and product expertise to help win and close business.
  • Resource for product positioning, competitive differentiation, and advisor/broker inquiries.
  • Take a lead role in the development of assigned territory for NQ Distribution talent (people development/bench strength).

Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree or eight years of equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years of external life wholesaling experience
  • CLU, CFP, or ChFC designations preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of COLI, variable life insurance, annuities, and mutual funds required
  • Need strong working knowledge of non-qualified planning techniques, non-qualified plans, and employee benefits
  • Must have excellent organizational, problem-solving, analytical, presentation, and oral and written communication skills
  • Achievement orientation, relationship building, and good training and conceptual thinking skills are necessary, as well as being personable and assertive
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Travel required, including overnight stays up to 50%
  • Requires the ability to be on-call for job responsibilities
Licenses and/or exams necessary for this position include:
  • FINRA Series 6 and 63 exams are required at time of hire
  • Life and Variable Life insurance license in all states within assigned territory within 60 days of hire
  • Maintaining all applicable licenses is required for continued employment in this position
  • Cannot participate in any solicitation until properly licensed

Salary Range Information
This position offers a competitive compensation package consisting of a base salary combined with incentive earnings. The base salary will provide financial stability, while the incentive component offers additional earning potential based on performance metrics.
