Job description

Business Continuity Analyst

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid/Remote based on business needs)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Business Continuity Analyst to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the enterprise Incident Management and Business Continuity program. This individual will play a key role in strengthening the organization's ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from operational disruptions. The ideal candidate will have experience developing incident response frameworks, business continuity plans, crisis management procedures, and training programs while collaborating across technology and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and continuously enhance the enterprise Incident Management and Business Continuity framework.

Create and maintain incident response procedures, escalation protocols, operational playbooks, and hazard-specific response plans.

Support crisis management activities by coordinating response efforts during operational incidents and business disruptions.

Develop and maintain Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), Disaster Recovery (DR) documentation, and recovery strategies for critical business functions.

Partner with business units and technology teams to perform Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and risk assessments.

Drive the implementation and adoption of incident management technologies, automation tools, reporting dashboards, and communication platforms to improve incident tracking and situational awareness.

Develop executive-level reporting and dashboards that provide visibility into incident trends, response effectiveness, and program maturity.

Design and deliver enterprise-wide incident management and business continuity training programs.

Facilitate tabletop exercises, disaster recovery tests, and crisis simulations to validate response procedures and identify opportunities for improvement.

Train Incident Response Team members on incident management processes, escalation procedures, roles and responsibilities, and response expectations.

Coordinate post-incident reviews, root cause analyses, and lessons learned sessions to improve future response capabilities.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Incident Management.

Collaborate with Information Security, Infrastructure, Risk Management, Compliance, and business stakeholders to strengthen organizational resilience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Emergency Management, Risk Management, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in Business Continuity, Incident Management, Disaster Recovery, Operational Resilience, Risk Management, or a related discipline.

Experience developing Business Continuity Plans, Incident Response Plans, Crisis Management procedures, and recovery documentation.

Knowledge of Business Impact Analysis (BIA), Risk Assessments, and operational resilience frameworks.

Experience facilitating incident response activities and coordinating cross-functional teams during operational disruptions.

Familiarity with incident management platforms, workflow automation tools, and reporting solutions.

Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and documentation skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience within the banking or financial services industry.

Knowledge of NIST, ISO 22301, FFIEC, FEMA ICS, ITIL, or other business continuity and incident management frameworks.

Professional certifications such as CBCP, MBCI, CBCI, PMP, CISM, CISSP, ITIL, or related certifications are preferred.

Experience conducting tabletop exercises, crisis simulations, and disaster recovery testing.

Experience working with executive leadership during incident response and crisis management activities.
