Job description

Sterile Processing Technician (Contract) – New York (14642)
  • Location: New York, 14642

  • Pay Rate: $917 – $1,042 (weekly)

  • Schedule: Full-Time, 5x8s

    • Hours: Typically 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM, may require early start or late end

    • No holidays, weekends, call, or overnight shifts

Position Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 2+ years of Certified Sterile Processing experience required

  • Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD) required

  • Previous OR or Med-Surg experience in a healthcare facility required

  • Travel experience required

  • Orthopedic tray experience preferred

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reprocess, assemble, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment following sterile technique and manufacturer guidelines

  • Ensure proper care, handling, and quality assurance of instruments and equipment

  • Document instrument usage and maintain accurate records

  • Participate in continuous education and training in sterile processing procedures

  • Pick, distribute, and monitor inventory of surgical supplies and equipment

  • Conduct biological and chemical testing to ensure decontamination quality

  • Support clinical staff with assistive and patient advocacy duties

  • Perform other duties as assigned
