Job description

Life Skills and Transition Center (LSTC) is currently looking for a Flex Overnight Nurse in Grafton, North Dakota.
Leading with light begins by providing compassionate, person-centered care that empowers individuals to live healthier, more independent lives. As a Flex Overnight Nurse at the Life Skills and Transition Center (LSTC) in Grafton, you will play an important role in helping North Dakota become the healthiest state in the nation by delivering high-quality nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
As our Flex Overnight Nurse, you will provide skilled nursing care that supports each person's individualized treatment plan while promoting their health, safety, and overall well-being. You will work alongside an interdisciplinary team to ensure every individual receives compassionate, person-centered care that enhances their quality of life.
You will administer medications and treatments accurately according to physician orders, nursing standards, and individualized care plans. You will maintain timely, thorough, and professional documentation that complies with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
You will prepare medical information packets for individuals transferring to hospitals or other care settings, ensuring continuity of care and accurate communication between providers. You will implement physician orders promptly and accurately to ensure individuals receive the highest standard of medical care throughout their stay at LSTC.
You will complete quarterly nursing assessments to evaluate health status, identify new or changing medical conditions, and monitor chronic health concerns. Your assessments will help guide treatment decisions and ensure each individual's care plan reflects their current needs.
You will provide education, guidance, and ongoing support to the individuals receiving services, direct support professionals, medical technicians, and interdisciplinary team members. You will serve as a trusted clinical resource by answering questions, providing direction, and collaborating with healthcare providers to address both routine and urgent medical concerns.
You may assist with coordinating, conducting, and documenting emergency assessments and transfers while ensuring individuals receive timely and appropriate medical attention when unexpected situations arise.
To thrive in this position, you must enjoy building meaningful relationships with the individuals you support while embracing a style of nursing that focuses on health promotion and improving quality of life rather than the fast pace of a traditional hospital setting.
You must be able to communicate effectively with individuals, families, physicians, direct support professionals, medical technicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. You will adjust your communication style to meet the needs of your audience while explaining medical information in a clear, respectful, and understandable manner.
You must possess strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment. You will remain calm under pressure, respond thoughtfully to changing medical situations, and ensure accurate documentation and follow-through.
You must maintain a thorough understanding of nursing principles, applicable regulations, and LSTC policies and procedures while demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning, teamwork, and delivering exceptional care to the individuals you serve.
To be considered for this position You must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the ND Board of Nursing or registration in another state and eligible for licensure in ND.
  • Or You must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) by the ND board of Nursing or registration in another state and eligible for licensure in ND.
