The Role at a Glance

The Analyst on the Funds Strategy Team is a key contributor supporting fund strategy, analytics, project management, and business reporting across Lincoln’s manager-of-managers investment platform. The role combines investment analysis, fund lineup oversight, cross-functional project coordination, stakeholder management, and executive-level communication. The analyst will help maintain and evaluate fund lineups supporting Lincoln’s insurance and retirement products, conduct quantitative analysis using internal and external data sources, and develop reports and presentations that communicate strategic recommendations to senior leadership, board stakeholders, and business partners. The position supports assets across equity, fixed income, multi-asset funds, and Lincoln’s proprietary variable insurance trust mutual funds.

What you'll be doing

•Support and coordinate cross-functional projects from planning through execution, managing timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.
•Maintain, monitor, and analyze fund lineups for insurance and retirement products, including performance, fees, risk metrics, product guideline compliance, and fund change activity.
•Perform quantitative analysis using large and complex datasets and identify meaningful trends and insights.
•Develop executive-ready reports, presentations, dashboards, and recommendations for leadership and business stakeholders.
•Build and maintain relationships across investment partners, internal business teams, and key stakeholders while navigating competing priorities.
•Utilize analytical tools and data sources such as Morningstar, Dataiku, and other investment research platforms.
•Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting efficiency, data quality, and workflow automation, including the application of AI tools where appropriate.
•Remain current on industry trends, regulatory developments, and market changes that may impact investment offerings and insurance products.

What we’re looking for

Must haves:

•Proven Project Management Ability: Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent projects, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, tracking milestones, and driving initiatives to completion in a deadline-driven environment.
•Fund and Investment Analysis Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities with experience evaluating investment products, fund performance, expense structures, and related investment data. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets are required. Ability to understand which data points are most meaningful when analyzing mutual funds or investment strategies.
•Strong Written and Verbal Communication: Ability to translate complex investment and data-driven concepts into concise, polished communications, reports, and presentations. Proven relationship management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to influence, persuade, and manage competing stakeholder priorities.
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
•3-5 years experience in investments, mutual funds, fund research, analytics, or related financial services disciplines.
•Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
•Demonstrated track record of strong performance, initiative, problem solving, and continuous improvement.
•Interest and openness to learning Python to support data analysis and automation.

Nice to haves:

•Insurance or Asset Management Industry Experience: Familiarity with variable annuity, variable life, retirement, or other insurance-linked investment products, including awareness of industry and regulatory considerations.
•Advanced Data, Automation, and Presentation Tools: Experience using Excel VBA/macros, AI tools such as Claude, Dataiku, or similar technologies to improve analytics, reporting, and operational efficiency.
•Experience with Investment Data Vendors: Knowledge of Morningstar and other investment data providers, with the ability to validate and reconcile information across vendor platforms, SEC filings, and internal sources.
