Job description

Job Summary 

Provide professional and enriching dog care services in a structured, welcoming, and safe facility located in the SoMa community of San Francisco.

General Accountability 

  • Engage with dog owners on basic and routine matters during check in/out times, while safely transitioning daycare attendees in and out of the facility

  • Supervise dog play groups while teaching/reinforce proper canine behavior ensuring a safe and well balanced environment

  • Capture media such as photographs and video recordings of dog play activities while documenting pertinent canine behavior observed

  • Read and follow feeding, medication, formula and supplement instructions for multiple dogs

  • Provide basic animal health and grooming such as bathing, nail trims and brushing

  • Clean, sanitize, organize and maintain neat workspaces and dog play and sleeping quarters throughout the facility

Job Requisites

Highschool graduate or equal program/certification mandatory. The ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time, lift 50 pounds unassisted, and have access to a smartphone is also mandatory. Basic dog First Aid certification is an asset. Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience and valid certifications within the dog walking, dog training, and kennel operations industry. Work experience and/or higher education in the veterinary field is considered favorable but not required.

The successful candidate will be reliable, flexible, positive, well organized, punctual, confident in their ability to deescalate and redirect a variety of dog behaviors and be comfortable working independently. Excellent situational awareness, judgment and safe decision making while following precise directions are of the utmost importance in this position. Each team member should be committed to the safe and successful growth of our family owned and operated company. 
 

Hours and Compensation

The Daycare Attendant role has an hourly starting rate between $19.00-$22.00, the Overnight Manager is compensated on a per/night basis. Flexible hours ranging from 15-40 per week or 1-3 Overnights, shared between weekdays, weekends and/or holidays. The Hourly position is eligible for overtime where applicable, whereas all team members are eligible for performance bonuses. Applicants may be considered for either role upon request.
