Job description

Allied Universal® Company, is hiring a Floor Technician. The Floor Technician will upkeep the facility by carrying out all cleaning functions of the floors and/or carpets by using various equipment and machinery. The main goal is to keep our client’s property in a clean and orderly condition to contribute to a positive shopping experience for patrons.

The Floor Technician will deliver the highest quality of preventative maintenance cleaning services to floor coverings and architectural surfaces in some of the most impressive commercial facilities in the world. Allied Universal Janitorial Services provides training and equipment to ensure success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver best-in-class cleaning and restoration services on surfaces in commercial buildings including carpet, upholstery, stone, metal, tile, grout, vinyl, wood, and concrete
  • Execute and document routine inspection and/or maintenance activities regarding the floors/carpets of the facility
  • Follow the direction of Shift and Crew Leaders to complete each job using SOLID’s equipment, products, and methods in a timely manner
  • Prepare for jobs by gathering equipment and supplies for each job and then loading and unloading of vehicles as needed
  • Follow safety guidelines and operating procedures for equipment and products; perform safe and proper operations of custodial equipment, including battery powered floor machines, buffers, and other machinery
  • Facilitate preventive maintenance and minor repair to custodial equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment, vehicles, and warehouse
  • Stock and maintain supplies and inventory records
  • Overnight travel within the United States to assist other teams as needed may be required
  • Occasionally travel overnight to participate in specialized group training events

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED)
  • No prior work history required
  • Ability to work independently with little to no direct supervision
  • Ability to handle cleaning equipment and machinery
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Excellent written, oral, and customer service skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills and train others
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills to be able to access timecards, training, and employment information
  • Ability to multi-task

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior janitorial work experience
  • Prior experience as a floor technician
  • Experience in cleaning and restoring floor coverings such as carpet, tile, vinyl
  • Valid driver’s license
