Job Description:
Nocturnist Critical Care Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Needed for Elliot Health System, Manchester
Elliot Health System (EHS) is seeking an experienced Critical Care Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our Critical Care Service line. The Critical Care Medical Service provides 24/7 in-house management of a 16-bed closed Intensive Care Unit and 12-bed intermediate care unit. The ICU is a mixed medical-surgical unit and supports a level 2 trauma center as well as active neurosurgical, cardiovascular and cardiothoracic services. The position will be part of the in-house overnight critical care service care team triad consisting of 2 advanced practice providers and one board certified intensivist. The successful candidate will work in-house directly with the intensivist overnights 1700-0700. Minimum experience: 2-years in an Acute Care setting, 1-year Critical Care setting.
  • Admissions and nightly care for patients admitted to the intensive care unit as well as other patients admitted to the service as needed and at the direction of the team leader
  • Ventilator and airway management of patients with respiratory failure
  • Placement of invasive monitoring devices when appropriate
  • Pressor and resuscitation management
  • Co-management of perioperative and postoperative patients upon request
  • Critical care consultation as requested by members of the medical staff
  • Provides assistance with the Hospital's Critical Assessment Team and Code Blue Response
  • Subspecialty consultation available
