Description:

ABNA is seeking multiple Survey Crew Chief positions for both our Midtown St. Louis, MO office that will set-up and operate equipment and instruments used at job sites to measure, record, and calculate data for all types of survey projects including ALTA Surveys, Boundary, Topographic, Construction Staking, and Right of Way Surveys, and 3D mapping/LiDAR support. Provide communications with Survey Coordinator and Survey Project Managers, manage field data, maintain field notes and files, and review final drawings.

• High School diploma or equivalent with strong math skills, Secondary education preferred.

• Ability to use Microsoft Office

• 5+ years of surveying experience using conventional, robotic, or related surveying equipment

• Required to have satisfactory results on a Motor Vehicle Record check and maintain a valid driver’s license

• Ability to read Construction Plans and to execute field staking

• Proficiency with GPS, Total Station and Data Collectors - experience using Trimble hardware and software is preferred Job

• Must be open to travel up to 50% or more of the time to remote field locations, including overnight stays, as needed. Travel locations are not limited to Missouri, may work overtime including some weekends or out of hours work as project needs dictate.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational, time management, problem solving, attention to detail, and analytical skills • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals

• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and terrain conditions

• Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. and do repetitive work such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time.

• This position requires prolonged periods of standing and walking long distances over varied terrain and work in all seasonal climates to perform some of the typical tasks and duties associated with topographic and construction surveying including being required to clear vegetation, dig holes, and pound stakes with hand tools and location of boundary corners using a magnetic location device

Preferred:

• Current valid FAA Part 107 certification is a plus

• Software experience including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or Microstation is a plus

• CST, LSIT (Land Surveyor in Training) or PLS (Professional Land Surveyor) licensed in the State Missouri or Illinois or the ability to obtain PLS in either state within 12 months preferred.

• Prior experience with MODOT or IDOT Survey Manual and Procedures is preferred Locations: St. Louis, Missouri and Chicago, Illinois
