Job description

Summary:
Hyatt Regency Bellevue on Seattle's Eastside is seeking an experienced Overnight Hotel Operations Manager to serve as the Manager on Duty during overnight operations.
This leadership role is responsible for the overall operation of the hotel during the overnight shift, ensuring a safe, efficient, and guest-focused environment. As the senior operational leader on property overnight, you will oversee hotel operations, coordinate responses to guest and building-related issues, and partner closely with Front Office, Engineering, Security, and other departments to ensure seamless hotel operations. The ideal candidate is a confident and experienced hotel leader who exercises sound judgment, makes independent decisions, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong operational knowledge, the ability to lead through complex situations, and a working understanding of hotel building systems. While partnering closely with the overnight engineer, this is an operational leadership role rather than a maintenance position.
The budgeted annual salary for this position is $80,180 - $82,000. Non-exempt, 45 hours per week.

Responsibilities
Hotel Operations
  • Serve as the overnight Manager on Duty for the hotel with responsibility for overall overnight operations.
  • Provide operational leadership and direction for overnight departments while maintaining Hyatt service standards.
  • Make independent decisions that balance guest satisfaction, colleague safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate communication and response efforts between Front Office, Engineering, Security, Housekeeping, and other departments.
Guest Experience
  • Resolve complex guest concerns and lead service recovery efforts.
  • Handle guest disturbances, noise complaints, and sensitive situations with professionalism while consistently enforcing hotel policies.
  • Support VIP arrivals, special requests, and other operational priorities.
Safety & Building Operations
  • Lead the hotel's response to operational disruptions, emergencies, and building system issues, including power outages, water leaks, elevator issues, and fire alarms.
  • Partner with the overnight engineer to assess operational impacts, establish priorities, and coordinate hotel-wide response efforts.
  • Conduct routine property inspections to identify safety, security, and operational concerns.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and communication of significant overnight incidents.
Front Office Support
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Night Audit and Front Office teams.
  • Ensure overnight operational and financial procedures are completed accurately.
  • Facilitate a seamless transition to morning leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three or more years of progressive leadership experience in hotel operations, engineering, facilities, security, or a related operational environment.
  • Previous Manager on Duty, department management, or comparable hotel leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations, building systems, and life safety procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams during operational challenges.
  • Experience with Opera PMS, HotSOS, or similar hotel systems preferred.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
This position requires frequent walking throughout the property, responding to guest and operational concerns, and coordinating overnight operations in a 732-room, full-service hotel.
