Professional Unarmed Security Screening Officer –Part-Time Owings Mills | $20/Hour

REQUIREMENTS:

WE ARE SEEKING HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL AND EXPERIENCED UNARMED SECURITY OFFICERS TO JOIN OUR TEAM IN OWINGS MILLS. CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS A VALID MARYLAND GUARD CARD PERMIT, A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE, AND SECURITY EXPERIENCE USING THE EVOLV WEAPONS DETECTION SYSTEM. PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WITH MILITARY BACKGROUNDS OR PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN LAW ENFORCEMENT, OR THOSE WITH EXPERIENCE OPERATING THE EVOLV WEAPONS DETECTION SYSTEM IN HIGH-RISK SECURITY ENVIRONMENTS. PROFESSIONALISM, RELIABILITY, AND STRONG COMMUNICATION SKILLS ARE ESSENTIAL.

The qualifications include:

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass a drug screening
  • Reliable and functional transportation (public transportation is not acceptable)
  • Ownership of a cell phone for contact by Operations Supervisors
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check with no felony arrests or convictions
  • Must have an active Maryland Guard Card
  • Working knowledge and experience with the Evolv Weapons Detection System
  • Ability to perform duties as stated in post orders, which may include standing/walking for extended periods or lifting
  • Familiarity with mobile technology (tablets, smartphones, etc.)
  • Possession of a valid full driver’s license (public transportation is not acceptable)
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a daily log of all activities during your assigned shift at your assigned post
  • Document all incidents occurring during your assigned shift in a detailed incident report
  • Conduct walking or vehicular patrols throughout your shift
  • Enforce customer rules in a professional and courteous manner
  • Arrive on time and in proper uniform at your assigned post
  • Ability to interact and communicate with the public
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate emergencies effectively
  • Ability to quickly and accurately identify critical issues and respond appropriately
