Direct Support Camp Counselor - Great Student Internship Opportunity!

Camp Cheerful, Strongsville

Camp Dates: June 8th - August 14th. Come join the fun!

Are you fun, patient, warm, and enthusiastic? Then we need you to create camp memories! Come be a Camp Counselor and be prepared to make an unforgettable impact on the lives of adults with disabilities!

Set on 52 acres of beautiful woods, trails, fields and aquatic areas of the Cleveland Metro parks, the Achievement Centers for Childrens Camp Cheerful offers campers all the traditional camp activities including, hiking, arts and crafts, nature activities, games, campfire activities, music, sports, and so much more!!!! Come help make memories for you and the campers!

We are currently recruiting for Residential Camp Counselors for the summer season (June 8th-August 14th). Residential Camp Counselors provide high quality primary care and support for the campers. Must be 18 years of age. Previous camp experience with adults with disabilities is a plus. This role requires personal care like toileting and changing for the campers. This position also requires outdoor work in all weather conditions.

  • Compensation is $475 per week. Can be a paid student internship if your school/college allows!
  • Overnight Hours: Sunday 5pm through Friday 12pm
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Previous camp experience, or experience with adults with disabilities is a plus, but not a requirement!
  • All training provided at no cost --CPR, First Aid and AED certification.
  • Crisis prevention and intervention certification provided at no cost.
  • We serve a wide range of disabilities including cognitive, physical, developmental and neurological.
