Job description

Electric Motor Field Service Technician

Brandon & Clark Inc. is seeking a skilled Electric Motor Field Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair electro-mechanical and rotating equipment in the field. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, a passion for troubleshooting, and experience working independently in industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of electric motors, pumps, gear reducers, and related rotating equipment.
• Conduct field diagnostics including vibration analysis, balancing, laser alignment, and electrical testing.
• Ensure proper tolerances, clearances, and mechanical fits during disassembly and reassembly.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, and test results.
• Provide exceptional customer service and represent Brandon & Clark professionally at all times.
• Mentor and support less experienced technicians in the field.
• Comply with all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE requirements.
• Travel regularly, including overnight stays and rotating on-call assignments (evenings, weekends, holidays).

Qualifications

• Technical or vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant field service experience required.
• Level 2 Vibration Certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, test equipment, and computer-based systems.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA standards, and confined space procedures.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and work in diverse environmental conditions.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with laser alignment, vibration data collection, and balancing.
• Familiarity with motor testing, electrical theory, and diagnostic software.
• Mentoring or leadership experience in a field service environment.
