Red River Animal Emergency Clinic is growing, and we're searching for a full-time Overnight ER Veterinary Technician to join our exceptional team in Fargo, ND.

Compensation & Incentives

Starting pay:

  • $25 - $30 per hour, depending on experience
  • Additional $5/hour overnight shift differential

Sign-On Bonus:

  • 1-5 years of technician experience: $5,000
  • 5-10 years of technician experience: $7,500
  • 10+ years of technician experience or ER experience: $10,000
  • Up to $5,000 relocation assistance

YOUR NEW ROLE AS AN OVERNIGHT ER VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

This is an overnight position, working a schedule of three days per week, with preference given to candidates who can work overnights and weekends.

In our fast-paced emergency department, no two shifts are the same. You'll work side by side with a collaborative veterinary team, caring for patients who need urgent and life-saving medical attention.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Triaging incoming emergency cases
  • Assisting veterinarians with treatments and procedures
  • IV therapy administration
  • Wound care
  • Feeding tube management
  • Patient assessments
  • Catheter placement
  • Laboratory sample collection
  • Blood and plasma transfusions
  • Compassionate patient handling and comfort-focused care

You'll also have the opportunity to strengthen and expand your knowledge in:

  • Digital radiography
  • Ultrasound imaging
  • Anesthesia
  • Critical care monitoring
  • Long-term ventilation
  • Endoscopy
  • CT
  • Dialysis
  • Advanced emergency medicine procedures

In addition, you'll perform in-house laboratory testing including:

  • CBC
  • Blood gas analysis
  • Cytology
  • Additional diagnostic testing

You'll also communicate with clients during patient discharge, providing compassionate education and support during stressful situations.


REQUIREMENTS

Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program AND veterinary technology certificate or licensure.

Advanced technical skills in:

  • Digital radiography
  • Ultrasound imaging
  • IDEXX lab equipment
  • Anesthetic ventilation
  • Endoscopy
  • CT
  • Dialysis
  • Ventilation
