Job description

Support Services of Virginia is hiring Direct Support Professional Relief staff in Danville to support individuals with developmental disabilities in residential and community-based settings. We are seeking reliable, compassionate team members who are adaptable, community-oriented, and dedicated to helping individuals increase their independence and quality of life.

In this role, you will provide assistance with daily living activities while encouraging independence, personal development, and participation in the community. You will help individuals identify and maintain a balance between what is important to them and what is important for them, supporting them in living meaningful lives of their choosing.

Schedule & Work Environment

Support Services of Virginia operates services 24 hours a day. Direct Support Professional Relief staff provide coverage for day, evening, overnight, weekend, and other shifts as needed, based on program and staffing needs. Whether working in an individual’s home or supporting them in the community, you will play an important role in promoting independence and quality of life.

Virtual interviews and training are available through Zoom.

Compensation

• Starting pay: $13.50 per hour
• Opportunity to increase to $14.00 per hour following training and medication certification clearance
• All certifications must be verified

Requirements

• Proof of highest level of education
• Ability to successfully pass criminal/registry background checks and tuberculosis screening
• Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR/AED Certification, Medicaid Waiver Certification, and Direct Support Professional Core Competencies
• Strong communication and time management abilities
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
