What is an overnight Chicago Loop job?

Overnight Chicago Loop jobs refer to employment opportunities in the Chicago Loop area that require employees to work overnight shifts, typically outside of regular daytime hours. These jobs can be found in a variety of industries such as hospitality, security, healthcare, transportation, and cleaning services. Working overnight often involves tasks like monitoring facilities, providing customer service, stocking inventory, or maintaining buildings. Employees in these roles may benefit from shift differentials and quieter work environments but may also face challenges related to sleep schedules. Overnight jobs are essential to keeping the city’s core operations running smoothly around the clock.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an overnight Chicago Loop worker?

To thrive as an Overnight Security Officer in the Chicago Loop, you need knowledge of safety protocols, situational awareness, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with security systems, surveillance cameras, and incident reporting software is often required, along with certifications like CPR or a PERC card in Illinois. Strong observation skills, reliability, and effective communication help you manage incidents and interact with the public or building tenants. These skills ensure the safety and security of people and property during overnight hours, when risks may be higher and fewer staff are present.

What are the unique challenges of working an overnight shift in the Chicago Loop, and how can employees adapt?

Working overnight in the Chicago Loop presents unique challenges such as adjusting to a non-traditional sleep schedule, limited public transportation options during late hours, and a quieter work environment. Successful employees often establish a consistent sleep routine, plan their commutes carefully, and take advantage of the quieter atmosphere to focus on productivity. Additionally, connecting with fellow overnight team members fosters camaraderie and support for navigating these challenges together.

Job description

Flexihire Talent is recruiting on behalf of Harvest Loop for their Logan Square locations. We're partnering with Harvest Loop as their HR and recruitment team to help them find the right Store Manager to lead this next chapter.

Flexihire Talent is the sole point of contact for this role. Please do not contact Harvest Loop directly. All applications, questions, and updates go through our team.

In-Person Role - Hiring on Both Locations

Diversey: 3415 W Diversey Ave, Chicago, IL, USA 60647

Receive deliveries, build displays, and keep the floor full. A strong eye for how a produce wall should look.

Receive deliveries, stock the shelves, face the aisles, rotate dates. Keep the store ready for the next customer.

Who You're Working With

At Harvest Loop, we believe a grocery store is not just a place to shop. It is the rhythm of the neighborhood, the small daily ritual that ties us to one another. We are building something bigger than aisles and checkout lines. Our dream is a modern neighborhood market that blends thoughtful curation, real hospitality, and operational excellence. A space that is efficient but human. Tech forward yet deeply personal. We are here to bring joy back to everyday essentials, and to redefine what it means to serve a local community through food, connection, and systems that actually work.

What you will do

  • Receive deliveries and check invoices against orders.
  • Stock pallets and cases. Face every aisle. Rotate by date.
  • Help customers when asked. You are part of the store, not 'just stock.'
  • Snap a photo of every delivery invoice into the staff portal. We will teach you.
  • Flag damaged product and out-of-stocks.

What you will bring

  • Reliability. On time, on shift.
  • Physical capacity. Comfortable lifting 50 lbs and on your feet for a full shift.
  • Comfort using a smartphone or tablet to log work.
  • A self-starter on overnight shifts where the crew is small.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (or currently working toward it).

What success looks like in 90 days

  • You know the receiving rhythm cold. Trucks come in, invoices match, and product hits the floor without a manager checking your work.
  • Your aisles are consistently faced, dates rotated, and out-of-stocks flagged before customers notice.
  • You have logged every delivery invoice cleanly into the staff portal and the back room is organized to your standard.
