Job description

The Instructional Designer is responsible for collaborating with the Director of Learning Experience and internal teams to design, develop, and implement sales training materials for new hires, field sales personnel, and management. The Instructional Designer will develop ongoing, blended learning and training programs focused on product, clinical, and territory management skills. The Instructional Designer will create, select, and suggest engaging learning activities and compelling course content that addresses customer needs and exceeds their expectations. The Instructional Designer will partner with subject matter experts to identify appropriate training content for various audiences to maximize the effectiveness of training materials by researching training methodologies, learning tools, and best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop engaging, learner-centered training solutions across multiple delivery formats, including eLearning, instructor-led training, and virtual instructor-led training.
  • Apply established instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies to develop effective learning experiences.
  • Develop instructional deliverables, including learning objectives, design documents, storyboards, scripts, assessments, job aids, and supporting learning materials.
  • Create linear and non-linear storyboards that include instructional flow, graphics concepts, audio scripts, learner interactions, navigation, and technical specifications for development.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, and other internal team members to analyze learning needs and develop effective training solutions.
  • Translate technical and complex information into clear, engaging, and learner-focused instructional content.
  • Assist in selecting appropriate instructional approaches and delivery methods based on project requirements and established design strategies.
  • Develop and publish learning content using industry-standard authoring tools, including Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Package and publish learning content in accordance with industry standards, including SCORM, AICC, and xAPI, as required.
  • Participate in project planning, design reviews, and production meetings throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal team members, subject matter experts, and customers.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting established deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Review learning materials for quality, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Incorporate feedback from project stakeholders and internal reviewers into instructional materials.
  • Stay current on instructional design trends, learning technologies, and best practices to support continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties, responsibilities, and organizational initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 2-5 years of instructional design experience
  • Able to independently develop learning assets
  • Experience working on cross-functional team
  • Experience working in Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Skilled in writing, editing, and delivering oral and written information
  • Organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through.

Preferred

  • Experience in training for the pharmaceutical, medical products, or life sciences industries.
  • Experience with consulting, professional services, training, or leadership development organizations.
  • Agency experience.
