Job title: Manager – Power Solutions Group
Reports to: Vice President of Sales
Classification: Exempt
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM / 40 hours a week

Summary/Objective:
The Power Solutions Group Manager provides group leadership and direction while remaining actively engaged in the preparation of quotations, proposal development, technical consultation, and opportunity management. This role is responsible for driving team performance while directly supporting complex projects, strategic accounts, and high-value pursuits across the organization's power distribution and control solutions portfolio.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of technical sales, engineering, and quotation professionals, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, EPC firms, manufacturer partners, and internal sales teams to support business growth and project execution.
  • Prepare and oversee accurate, competitive quotations and technical proposals for power distribution products, including switchgear, switchboards, motor control centers, transformers, E-Houses, UPS systems, panelboards, busway, drives, and related engineered solutions.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and technical requirements to ensure compliance, identify value-added solutions, and mitigate commercial or technical risk.
  • Coordinate with customers, manufacturers, and suppliers to secure pricing, lead times, technical support, and project resources while managing quotation activity, bid schedules, and opportunity pipelines.
  • Monitor team performance, project pipelines, and key business metrics to drive operational efficiency, profitability, and successful project conversion.
  • Support business development initiatives by identifying market opportunities, strategic customer targets, manufacturer partnerships, and emerging industry trends.

Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution products, including switchgear, switchboards, motor control centers, transformers, drives, UPS systems, power quality solutions, and related electrical equipment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel schedules, technical specifications, and design standards.
  • Working knowledge of project flow and project management principles, including FEED, competitive bidding, scheduling, order placement, supplier coordination, fabrication, testing, installation, commissioning, and aftermarket/warranty support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with customers, suppliers, manufacturer partners, and internal teams while influencing outcomes and driving accountability.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and complex opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (with strong emphasis on Excel), ERP systems, CRM tools, and other business software applications.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment. The role requires daily use of computers, ERP systems, Microsoft Office applications, and digital collaboration tools to communicate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams. Frequent phone, email, and virtual meeting interactions are required.

Physical Demands:
This role requires regular communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders through in-person meetings, phone calls, video conferencing, and digital communication platforms.

The position is primarily office-based and sedentary, requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use. Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting of office materials up to 20 pounds may be required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend work may be needed to support customers and project deadlines. We also offer the flexibility to work remotely on an occasional basis or while traveling, as business needs allow.

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in electrical distribution, power distribution equipment, technical sales, applications engineering, or related industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; or equivalent technical, construction, or manufacturing work experience
  • Prior leadership, supervisory, or team development experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% to visit supplier locations, company facilities, customer sites, industry events, or other business-related functions as needed.
  • Ability to obtain TWIC Card, safety certifications, and pass applicable drug/background check(s) as required for entry into customer/supplier facilities.
