Job description

Lazzaro Companies, Inc. is currently hiring for the position of PROJECT MANAGER/ESTIMATOR for its Hollow Metal Division.ย  Lazzaro Companies, Inc. is a family-owned business that has been serving the commercial construction industry for over 60 years. We specialize in hollow metal doors and frames, architectural wood doors, architectural hardware, access control, and washroom accessories and partitions.


Responsibilities:

  • Analyze plans and specifications and prepare detailed take-offs
  • Prepare construction documents, including bids, schedules of values, and purchase orders
  • Manage submittals, shop drawings, and material samples
  • Request supplier pricing; prepare purchase orders; order and track materials
  • Prepare shop tickets for fabrication and hardware picking tickets
  • Coordinate shop fabrication with delivery drivers and job site foreman; prepare delivery tickets and packing lists
  • Compile schedules and coordinate with general contractors regarding material delivery requirements
  • Communicate with clients, designers, and building management through all phases of construction, providing updates and addressing questions or concerns
  • Track and manage construction change orders


Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Construction Management or Construction Technology preferred
  • Relevant construction industry experience
  • Ability to read plans and specifications and preform accurate take-offs
  • Proficient in construction drawing/drafting and Microsoft Office; ability to learn industry-specific estimating software
  • Experience with all phases of construction documents, including field measurements, as-builts, schematic design, contract documents, and construction administration
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management with attention to detail
