Technical Sales & Project Manager
Our Client designs, builds and integrates process and packaging systems for food, beverage and other industrial applications. 
Our Client is seeking a Technical Sales & Project Manager to join our sales and engineering teams. This exciting and challenging role is responsible for driving national sales efforts by targeting food manufacturers and outside engineering firms, with the opportunity to stay involved with project execution from proposal to installation.
 
Our Client’s Technical Sales and Project Managers are the face of the company and actively participate in identifying sales opportunities with existing customers as well as new potential customers. A successful candidate will be personable, with strengths in sales, marketing, analytical skills, and problem solving for customers’ projects. Relationships in the Food and Beverage Industry are a plus.  
Key Accountabilities:
Sales & Business Development
  • Prospect and Identify new business opportunities through cold calling, referrals, and industry research
  • Respond to RFQs/RFPs with tailored technical proposals.
  • Develop scopes of work and detailed cost estimates for new projects
  • Set and attend appointments with potential and existing clients.
  • Ability to make multiple sales calls and customer contacts daily
  • Provide technical assistance to customer inquiries relating to Our Client equipment and services
  • Assist in developing solutions to establish new projects
  • Be willing to travel at least twice a month to develop the scope of work for projects and new sales inquiries
 
Project Execution
  • Manage Projects from start to completion
  • Coordinate with internal Design and Fabrication Teams.
  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor services.
  • Keep customer apprised of project milestones, budgets, and schedules.
  • Identify, document, and process change orders effectively.
 
Customer Engagement
  • Provide technical support and recommendations on Our Client’s systems and services.
  • Communicate proactively with customers on project progress and issues.
Skills and Experience:
  • 5+ years of sales experience in a technical or industrial environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of process and/or packaging systems
  • Plant maintenance or capital project management a plus
  • Hands-on Knowledge of sheet metal and machine shop operations including welding, shear, brake press, and finishing is a Plus
  • Knowledge of millwright procedures including equipment installation, dismantling, and repairs, sanitary and process piping is a plus
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings
Ideal candidates will have the following skills and abilities:
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Customer Service, Technical Design, Communication
  • Organized and Detail-Oriented
  • Experience in process and packaging system design including but not limited to: Material handling systems, conveyors, mezzanines, mixing and seasoning, piping, electrical & controls
  • You aren't afraid of calling potential clients to prospect for new projects
     
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience plus bonus potential.
