Job description

This position is responsible for promoting and selling industrial, medical, and specialty gases. The candidate must also be able to sell a complete line of welding, industrial and safety hard goods. Outside sales representatives should utilize all sales and marketing tools available to expand sales at existing customer accounts and develop relationships with new customers. Representatives are responsible for identifying customers specific needs and recommending the best total solutions for that customer. In addition to growing existing accounts and bringing new customers into the Gas and Supply group, sales representatives support accounts receivable collection efforts.

Education Requirement:

High School Diploma

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree or Two Year Technical Degree

License(s) Required:

Valid Drivers License

Relevant Work Experience:

3 years of related sales experience

Preferred:

5 yrs sales experience in industrial supply distributorship

Work Hours: Full time, typically Monday-Friday, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week

Bilingual a plus

Job Functions and Duties:

  • Scheduling appointments and visiting existing customers to review product needs and determining other opportunities.

  • Providing product quotes as required

  • Organizing and attending joint sales calls with Vendors.

  • Opening new accounts.

  • Continuously updating customers on product changes and modifications

  • Providing solutions to customers problems

  • Attending Trade Shows and Conferences (if applicable)

  • Liaising between customers and the company for up-to-date status of service, pricing and new product release launches

  • Preparing reports for marketing and sales and keeping expense accounts

  • Keeping up to date on new products, services, procedures and tools by attending additional training and departmental meetings.

  • Other duties as assigned by Sales Manager.

Necessary Equipment & Instruments: Basic office equipment which includes: telephone, computer, possibly desk printer

Environment: The associate usually works in an office environment with no extreme temperatures, or exposure to other adverse conditions.

The associate may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds in the course of demonstrating a product. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
