Registered Nurse (RN) - Outpatient Surgery

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Outpatient Surgery unit. This position requires pre-operative and post-operative experience, and candidates must possess ACLS certification. The role will involve occasional on-call shifts and flexibility with scheduling.

Unit Information
  • Location: City, State
  • Number of Beds: 18 Outpatient Surgery beds (9 double-occupancy rooms)
  • Staffing: 9 Full-Time RNs + 9 RNs shared with PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)
  • Patient Ratios: 1:4
  • EMR: Meditech
Shift and Call Requirements
  • Shift: 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Call Requirements: Approx. 2-4 on-call shifts every 4 weeks during weekends (0700 to 0700)
Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 1 year nursing experience
  • Pre-op/Post-op experience
  • ACLS certification

Preferred:

  • Hospital nursing experience
Typical Procedures

The RN in this role will provide care for patients undergoing a variety of procedures, including:

  • Pre- and post-op endoscopy patients
  • General surgeries
  • Gastrointestinal, orthopedic, urology, spine, gynecology, breast oncology/reconstruction, podiatry
  • Cardioversion and heart catheterization procedures
  • Interventional radiology procedures
  • Bronchoscopies
