GL Accountant
Description
Location: Seattle, SODO office
Position: Full-Time, non-exempt
Rate: $36.06 - $40.78 per hour ($75,000 - $85,000k annualized)
About this role
Outdoor Research is seeking a team-oriented GL Accountant who will own a wide array of general ledger activities. Responsibilities will include overseeing the operational accounting of assigned balance sheet GLs, month-end close tasks and reconciliations, annual audit support, completing sales and excise tax filings and managing outside sales tax preparer to accurately and timely file in 40+ states, calculate and pay commissions in US and Canada, and oversee prepaid expenses and bank reconciliations in US and CAD. This highly visible role is critical to the success of Outdoor Research and works closely with other cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reporting and stewardship of the company's assets. The ideal candidate is a passionate and energetic team player with an eye for process efficiencies and unexplored opportunities for improvement through automation, template creation, workflow streamlining, and technological capabilities.
Position Requirements
What you should bring to the table:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Broad-based GL experience in small to mid-sized company with demonstrated ability to balance competing responsibilities and deadlines, juggle a wide-ranging statement of work with growing scope and scale
  • Advanced excel skills (v-lookup, pivot tables and pivot charts, dynamic arrays); comfort with large data sets (in excess of 10k lines) and required manipulation & data mining to solve complex problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven success working cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of GAAP or IFRS
  • Experience with internal controls and SOX compliance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and BI is a plus
