Job description

Summary
This position assists in the operation and maintenance of Eagles Rest RV Park in Valdez, Alaska.
Work schedule subject but not limited to:
Monday - Sunday
Incumbent must be 18+ years of age.
Will require weekend and holiday work as needed.

Duties
Help
Performs and/or assists in operation and maintenance of recreational facilities. Establishes schedules of events as well as the rules and regulations to be observed. Types of duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Testing boating equipment for safe operation; demonstrates safety and conservation techniques for campsites and water area; demonstrates equipment and techniques of various outdoor activities such as camping, swimming, and boating; sets up and takes down campsite at the beginning and end of the season, inspects outdoor recreation facilities and equipment for security and general conditions; and schedules campsites, cabins, boats, and other outdoor recreation equipment and areas for use, with responsibility for seeing that they are vacated or returned in good order. Performs inventory and cash handling duties in accordance with established cash handling and accountability procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules, and procedures in recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned.
  • Ability and skill in dealing with the public.
  • Must have cash handline experience.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
