About the Role

As the Logistics Manager (Administration and Systems) at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in leading the administrative functions of the Logistics department while driving the continued growth and optimization of the company's Transportation Management System (TMS). This position requires strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills, offering the opportunity to improve logistics operations, enhance reporting capabilities, and leverage emerging technologies to support business growth.

You will collaborate closely with Logistics, Finance, Information Technology, third-party software developers, carriers, and cross-functional teams to ensure efficient transportation processes, accurate reporting, and seamless system integration. This is a full-time, onsite role located in Harrow, ON, reporting to the

Senior Director of Logistics.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the carrier onboarding process, including carrier vetting, contract administration, rate agreements, insurance requirements, and training for all Zekelman facilities.

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze departmental reporting, including freight budgets, monthly and quarterly KPIs, carrier performance scorecards, and ad hoc reporting.

  • Manage freight payment processes through the Transportation Management System while coordinating with Finance to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.

  • Develop standardized reports that provide Logistics Managers with ongoing visibility into freight costs, carrier performance, and key operational metrics.

  • Lead the maintenance, enhancement, troubleshooting, training, and strategic development of the Transportation Management System (TMS).

  • Coordinate system enhancements and upgrades with third-party software development partners.

  • Drive continuous improvement of the Transportation Management System by leveraging AI technologies and future automation opportunities.

  • Oversee the Atlas Load Build Team, ensuring outbound shipments are accurately created and managed within SAP and customer portals.

  • Support logistics integration activities for newly acquired businesses, including carrier onboarding, contract negotiations, system implementation, and employee and carrier training.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities that improve logistics efficiency, reporting capabilities, and customer service.

  • Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

  • Degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution.

  • Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management preferred.

  • Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred.

  • Experience utilizing AI technologies or automation tools preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Outstanding organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with SAP or related enterprise systems is an asset.

  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed for training and business support.

Compensation for this role is $89,000 - $100,000 CAD plus 10% bonus.
