A well-known 4PL Warehouse Distribution Center located in Brighton, CO is seeking (4) Outbound Team Leads to work in their Sort Center. Pay is $26.20 per hour. Several shifts to choose from.


Position Summary

The Outbound Team Lead is responsible for coordinating all outbound staging, loading, and dispatch activities within a sort center. This role ensures freight is properly sorted, staged, loaded, and dispatched on time to meet network and customer service commitments.

Operating in a fast-paced, time-critical environment, the Team Lead drives execution through associates or 4PL partners, focusing on trailer build quality, departure accuracy, and adherence to cut-off times.


Key Responsibilities

Outbound Execution & Coordination

  • Lead outbound operations including lane management, staging, loading, and trailer dispatch.
  • Ensure shipments are built accurately by destination, route, or carrier requirements.
  • Coordinate trailer positioning, door assignments, and load sequencing.
  • Drive adherence to departure schedules and cut-off times.


Departure & Service Management

  • Monitor outbound readiness and ensure all loads meet on-time departure targets.
  • Prioritize critical shipments and recovery actions for late volume.
  • Coordinate closely with Flow Control to align outbound readiness with sort completion.
  • Ensure proper documentation and shipment verification before dispatch.


Team Leadership

  • Direct and coordinate daily activities of outbound associates or 4PL teams.
  • Assign work, set priorities, and monitor execution against plan.
  • Provide coaching and support to maintain productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Lead shift briefings and communicate performance expectations.


Safety, Quality & Compliance (QSHE)

  • Enforce safe loading practices and dock operations.
  • Ensure proper load securement, trailer inspection, and equipment use.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy to prevent mis-shipments and damages.
  • Support safety audits and incident investigations.


Issue Management & Problem Solving

  • Identify and resolve issues impacting outbound flow and departures.
  • Manage late arrivals, mis-sorts, and incomplete loads.
  • Escalate risks impacting service levels or network commitments.
  • Coordinate with transportation, yard, and inbound teams.


Performance & Reporting

  • Track KPIs such as on-time departures, load accuracy, trailer utilization, and outbound productivity.
  • Maintain logs of delays, service failures, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in shift handovers and operational reviews.


Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2–4 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or outbound dock operations.
  • Experience in time-sensitive, high-volume environments.
  • Strong understanding of shipping, staging, and load building processes.

Preferred

  • Experience in sort centers, hubs, or cross-dock operations.
  • Familiarity with WMS, TMS, or load planning systems.
  • Prior experience leading operational teams.
