Pay Rate: $26.72/hour
Position Summary
This role serves as the central coordination point for a team of 27 drivers (CDL and Box Truck) within a unionized manufacturing environment. Unlike high-volume logistics operations, this position supports a moderate, steady delivery schedule with a focus on consistency, service, and compliance rather than continuous high-volume dispatching.
The Dispatcher plans daily routes, assigns loads, tracks shipments, and supports drivers to ensure reliable, on-time deliveries. This role is well-suited for someone who values a structured environment, predictable workflow, and strong team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
• Driver Scheduling & Routing: Plan and assign daily routes and deliveries based on business needs and driver availability
• Load Coordination: Schedule and manage outbound deliveries; limited broker negotiation compared to high-volume logistics environments
• Driver Support & Communication: Maintain regular communication with drivers regarding schedules, delays, and route adjustments
• Tracking & Issue Resolution: Monitor shipments and proactively address delays, breakdowns, or service issues
• Compliance & Safety: Support DOT compliance, including HOS tracking and log review
• Documentation: Maintain accurate shipment records, bills of lading, and related documentation
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience in dispatch, transportation coordination, or logistics support preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with GPS/ELD systems a plus
• Strong organizational and communication skills
What to Expect in This Role
• Moderate dispatch volume (not a high-volume brokerage environment)
• Stable, team-oriented setting within a manufacturing operation
• Focus on coordination, communication, and reliability over sales or load chasing
• This role does not involve commission-based load brokerage or high-frequency dispatching
