Job description

OUC - The Reliable One, is presently seeking a Manager of New Products & Solutionsto join the Marketing & New Products division. At OUC, we don't just work - we're building a bright future of innovation and transformation for future generations.
We are looking for a strategic, imaginative, and results-driven product development leader who can envision what's next, translate customer needs into market-ready solutions, and guide teams through the full product lifecycle. In this role, you will lead OUC's portfolio of customer-facing products and services including EV charging solutions, solar programs, dark fiber, and energy efficiency offerings from concept and launch through growth, optimization, and performance evaluation.
This position plays a critical role in expanding OUC's innovative service offerings and non-traditional revenue streams. You will identify and evaluate new product opportunities, develop product roadmaps and business cases, guide structured development processes and ensure solutions deliver measurable value, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The role partners closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, leads a high-performing team, and influences across the organization to successfully pilot, scale, and implement forward-thinking solutions.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Product Development, Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university;
  • Master's in Business Administration (preferred);
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in product development, program management or similar;
  • Minimum three (3) years of formal supervisory/management experience;
  • Proven experience launching customer-facing products or services to market
  • Utility industry experience, preferred.

Job Purpose:
Manages OUC's product and service portfolio including the creation of new solutions like electric vehicle charging hubs, solar programs, dark fiber and similar customer facing through all phases of the product life cycle driving growth, profitability, new revenue and increased customer satisfaction. Manages the on-going evaluation process for current products and services and makes recommendations based on performance metrics developing product roadmaps, growth strategies and plans for program end-of-life.
Primary Functions:
  • Evaluate, prioritize, and integrate new products, services, and programs;
  • Manage products and services through various life cycle phases, including market research, competitive analysis, requirement gathering, pricing, positioning, business planning, partner identification, and product launch;
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define, prioritize, develop, and manage product roadmaps and growth initiatives;
  • Provide realistic revenue projections, projecting internal and external impacts of new offerings;
  • Develop business plans with goals, objectives, methods, quantifiable outcomes, and timelines to achieve program financial and market viability;
  • Identify and evaluate new product development opportunities, including existing program enhancements and extensions;
  • Evaluate implemented products and services continuously and make performance-based recommendations;
  • Research, select, and manage vendors for implementations and integrations;
  • Communicate roadmap plans, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders to seek feedback and achieve acceptance and buy-in;
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to pilot, scale, and implement solutions;
  • Manage operational implementation plans and engage necessary partners for successful execution;
  • Provide post-deployment support for products, services, and programs;
  • Track key metrics and report on success, including financial and adoption data;
  • Collaborate with market research team to develop a consumer-informed, relevant product pipeline;
  • Manage operations of New Products and Solutions, providing consistent reports to management, developing annual budgets, ensuring operations remain within authorized budgets;
  • Lead staff to accomplish departmental strategic goals, including coaching, development, and performance evaluation;
  • Communicate and align strategies and goals for the business unit;
  • Evaluate and align talent with business needs and mitigate talent risks;
  • Support an effective leadership team and cross-business unit work groups, fostering a culture of respect and learning;
  • Establish and act on performance metrics for teams and individuals, communicating expectations and addressing issues with employees and leadership as appropriate;
  • Manage selection and promotion procedures for open positions within the business unit.
  • Practice Continuous Improvement, assessing program competitiveness and staying updated on industry trends and market research techniques;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of all, but not limited to, the following:

    • Manage multiple projects from inception to implementation;
    • Make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, and compute rates, ratios and percentages;
    • Use standard office equipment (telephone, computer, copier, etc.).

Education/ Certification/ Years of Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Product Development, Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university;
