Job description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Lead Installation Technician to join our installation team. This role is ideal for technicians who are confident running installs, handling commissioning, mentoring others, and taking full responsibility for job outcomes.

Pay:

Piece rate or hourly

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform full system change-outs (AC, heat pumps, furnaces, IAQ systems, zoning, dual-fuel, and multi-split systems).
  • Lead commissioning: airflow verification, charging, combustion safety, electrical/mechanical checks, and documentation.
  • Mentor apprentices and journeymen in brazing, wiring, documentation, and pacing.
  • Plan jobs by reviewing packets, coordinating with warehouse/office, and ensuring all materials are on site.
  • Lead a crew of 1–2, assign tasks, and maintain jobsite safety and cleanliness.
  • Complete all required commissioning forms, photos, and ServiceTitan documentation.
  • Communicate clearly with homeowners during handoff and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate directly with the Retro/Install Manager to report progress, issues, and improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2–5+ years of residential/light commercial HVAC installation experience.
  • Certifications: EPA 608 required; OSHA-10 (minimum), OSHA-30 preferred; NATE certification a plus.
  • Skills: Strong brazing, wiring, ductwork, and commissioning skills. Ability to train and mentor junior installers.
  • Tools/Technology: Proficiency with iPad-based field software (ServiceTitan experience preferred).
  • Other: Valid driver’s license with clean record; ability to work Monday–Friday 7:30 AM until jobs are complete, with occasional Saturdays during peak demand.
