Job description

The Sporting Adventures Bird Processor embraces The Orvis Culture and helps to provide a world-class experience to all Orvis customers. 

Position Interface

This position reports directly to the Sporting Clays  & Upland Manager and will interact daily with other sporting adventures associates.

General Responsibilities:

  • Be an ambassador of the brand and embrace the Orvis Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Culture;

  • Butcher and process game birds;

  • Maintain cleanliness of the processing facility;

  • Sanitize processing equipment;

  • Maintaining inventory of frozen product;

  • Make deliveries of bulk meat to local smokehouses;

  • Complete additional assignments from management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Outgoing, friendly & personable with a positive attitude; 
  • Valid drivers’ license;

  • Team oriented with the ability to take direction and execute with exactness;

  • Ability to multi-task;

  • Flexibility with schedule - weekend holiday availability is mandatory;

  • Physical strength to reach, move, and handle sporting clays paraphernalia in high and low areas; 

  • Appreciation for the outdoors. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience;

  • Wingshooting and fly-fishing knowledge.
